Know Before You Go

Before booking your ticket of a lifetime, there are a few things you should know in order to make the most of your trip to Santorini Island. Depending on your desires and appetite for your trip to Santorini, the time you travel and the location at which you post up will differ. Nonetheless, below is a great general guide for deciphering the best times to travel and the best locations to reside.
When to Visit

While there is never a bad time to visit the island better known as heaven on earth, your decision will largely depend on your preferences as mentioned above. In general, however, given the climate and crowded populations, May-October seems to be the best recommendation.

If you’re keen on crowds and eager to party, the summer months may better suit your needs. Be wary, however, of inflated prices, overcrowded beaches, and hotter than hot temperatures.
Where to Visit
As mentioned in the intro to this guide, Santorini is made up of numerous smaller villages atop the volcanic mountains of Greece. Depending on your budget and desires will largely impact where you stay. Nonetheless, you can’t go wrong. Whether you’re seeking a party experience like no other, a romantic getaway, or a family destination with the kids, Santorini Island provides it with all.
With that said, Calder’s Edge is a highly desirable location for those travelling to Santorini. It offers everything you see in the postcards, from whitewashed architecture to cliff-views and sunsets.
In short, be sure to calculate your budget before booking. Otherwise, enjoy your stay wherever you decide to post up!
How to Get Around
Santorini is quite simple to travel through. Though it sits atop a caldera (a mountainous volcanic depression), Santorini provides tourists and locals alike the ability to get around by foot, bike, scooter, car, bus, or even a quad.
From my experience, id recommend renting a car if you can afford it. It will simply make your trip more enjoyable, more accessible, and more fun. If you’re an adventurer, maybe even rent a quad for a day!
What to Eat
The Greek cuisine is the local cuisine of Greece. Because Greece is a food lover’s destination, you’d be mistaken if you didn’t at least allow your tastebuds to experience the cuisine once.
However, thankfully, Santorini offers a wide variety of unique cuisines to choose from; from Italian and Mediterranean, to greek and Chinese, your choices are certainly not lacking.

Santorini in Summary

If you’re lucky enough to visit Santorini, I’m jealous. It was an experience of a lifetime that I personally won’t soon forget, and it will certainly be a trip that you won’t soon forget either.
Boasting only the most desirable sunsets that will blow your mind, beaches that compete with the world’s best, and food that will have your tastebuds exploding, Santorini offers it all.
While there, be sure to take it all in, because once you depart back home, it will only be a dream, so enjoy it while you’re there.
