When I first arrived at Santo Wines, I was already in awe. Surrounded by the mountain village, Pyrgos Kallistis, was a six-star building surrounded by vineyards. Offering breath-taking views that you can only dream of. Instagram pictures don’t do it justice!

Next, it was time to enter and explore. Right away, you’re greeted with the skyline of the ocean. At sunset, nonetheless. Surrounded by the mountainous peaks and valleys of Gorgeous Greece. Following your breathlessness reaction of the view, I was pleasantly impressed by the aesthetic arrangement of seating that heightened further the heavenly nature of the experience.

In short, first impressions were an A+++ to say the least.

Onto the tour and the tasting, the experience was truly first class; second to none. I was immediately indulged in my senses. Intrigued by my palate, and stunned by my perception of pleasure throughout the duration of the experience.

From my experience, I recommend, as do the staff, to take the full tour prior to the tasting. Not only will it familiarise your brain with the knowledge and history of what your tastebuds are about to indulge in. But it will develop a newfound appreciation for each and every sip of their famous volcanic wines.

At the end of the event, while I swirled my volcanic-bread wine in the sunsets of Santorini, I reminisced on my time spent and reassured myself that i’d be back.
