Puree, Paris: Parisian Home Cooking
It’s time to tantalize your taste buds with something new. Oh Puree, Paris: a unique little Parisian restaurant tucked onto the Rue Tournefort in the 5th arrondissement, set out to give your mouth something new and sensational to experience- and believe me, they succeeded.
Unique Food in the World’s Food Capital | Oh Puree
Everyone knows that Paris is the food capital of the world- but Chef Cusiner Walter and Maître d’Hôtel Maxence wanted to challenge what everyone believes they know about cooking and do something different, reinventing an old classic for new times.
And so Oh Puree was born.
Maxence brings you his experience in the gourmet restaurants Ledoyen, Thoumieux, and Apicius Maxence to create a gracious hosting experience, complete with sommelier service at the on-site wine bar.
Meanwhile, Walter hand-creates an exceptional seasonal menu that rotates every 6-8 weeks, allowing them to showcase a variety of unique taste experiences built around in-season vegetables and local produce. Combined with the charm of a traditional Parisian street cafe, it’s a vibe that’s hard to beat.
A Unique Take on Puree
No matter what delicacies are being dished up this week, a unique and flavorful vegetable mash is included with every item, introduced in a variety of ways, and carefully designed to complement the protein. The team felt it was time to move past the potato, and reinvent this versatile cuisine for modern palettes. It’s fun, but manages to skip seeming gimmicky and instead comes over as a natural part of the meal.
The dishes are well-thought-out and beautifully served, and the seasonality adds a bonus to the experience. It’s never the same twice, giving you plenty of opportunities to come back and enjoy it over and over again, without it ever feeling jaded or samey.
Cozy French Charm
Tucked away far from the bustle of rue Mouffetard, this is a rarity- a quiet address in the 5th arrondissement. Yet the setting reeks of old-world French charm, with cozy sidewalk tables, exposed beams, and stone walls. If you ever wanted a pretension-free, simple spot to enjoy tasty food with good friends, look no further- this is the place for you.
At Oh Puree a friendly welcome, no-frills frankness, and charming cordiality collide with a warm atmosphere and enjoyable wine list. The service is fun and vibrant, and the dishes are tasty and satisfying. While I loved the overall concept, I also have to admit that one of my favorite parts of the day was the delectable dessert! They seem to have a real knack for tasty treats to finish the meal, so save space for something extra when you visit.
At Oh Puree expect a simple, no-frills dining experience packed with flavor and just a hint of French elegance. It’s a unique concept well delivered, and I’d definitely go back for more.
The seasonality of the menu, and the simple, but well-designed, wine list, make this a hidden treat in a quiet area of Paris. Are you keen to experience the friendly atmosphere of Oh Puree for yourself? Why not make a reservation today?
